In February 2026, Global NC partnered with the Luther Hodges Scholars, an initiative of the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, and the Research Triangle Regional Partnership to host more than 20 scholars for an immersive experience in Research Triangle Park.
The program explored the history, impact, and continued evolution of RTP as one of North Carolina’s most significant long-term investments in innovation and economic development. Participants heard from Andrew Holton, Executive Vice President & COO of the Research Triangle Foundation, and toured both Frontier RTP and Hub RTP during a guided walking session.
Global NC also facilitated an interactive discussion and panel conversation focused on cross-sector collaboration and regional leadership. Panelists included Michelle Sorrells of the Triangle Community Foundation, Rachel Page of Global NC, and Katie Bowler Young of RTI International, moderated by Phil Hardy.
The day concluded with lunch at Boxyard RTP, highlighting local entrepreneurs and industries that continue to shape the region’s innovation economy.
