We have a New Name!
The University of North Carolina’s Center for International Understanding is now Go Global NC
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — The Center for International Understanding (CIU) is proud to announce a name change and much more! CIU is now Go Global NC.
We are building on our 35-year track record of transformative global education by expanding our reach and impact. Go Global NC demonstrates our movement beyond understanding toward action as we empower North Carolina with the skills, understanding, connections, and knowledge to succeed in a global community.
What’s different? We have a beautiful new logo designed by the advertising agency Anoroc. We have a new name that both current and new partners can remember. We also have an amazing new website thanks to support from Common Impact and countless volunteer hours from a team of programmers and designers at Fidelity Investments: www.goglobalnc.org. Our commitment to build connections that bring opportunities to all North Carolinians is now grounded in implementing the nation’s first Blueprint for Global Engagement. All of our education and training efforts support this roadmap to position N.C. globally as a great place to invest, study, work, partner, and live.
What’s the same? Our strong global programs are what we’re known for and those will continue to be a core focus: Latino Initiative, Global Leaders, China Programs, and Global Teachers. Importantly, just as we have been since our founding in 1979, we remain part of The University of North Carolina, a world-class, 17-campus university system.
Mission: Our mission is connecting North Carolina to the world and the world to North Carolina. We look forward to working with policy, education, and business leaders across the state who are focused on making North Carolina the most globally engaged state in the nation.
