Exploring the world within our state.

Local NC is a place-based learning program designed to help leaders, educators, and community members explore the rich cultures and global connections found throughout North Carolina. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the people, stories, and histories that build the cultural landscape of our state.

Like our international programs, Local NC creates immersive experiences that foster reflection, connection, and action. Through innovative learning journeys, participants visit communities across the state, from the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Outer Banks, to engage directly with local leaders, historians, and cultural changemakers.

These experiences help participants view North Carolina through a global lens, strengthening communities, inspiring leadership, and highlighting the economic and social value of our communities.
