Global Teachers alumni have a new way to have their commitment to global education recognized.
Through Global NC’s partnership with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI), educators who successfully complete the Global Teachers program now meet the requirements for the Global Educator Digital Badge (GEDB) and are automatically enrolled to receive the distinction.
Even better, the eligibility extends retroactively to Global Teachers alumni from the Chile, South Korea, Netherlands, and Southern Africa programs.
Recognizing Global Educators
The Global Educator Digital Badge recognizes North Carolina educators who are putting global competence into practice and demonstrates their commitment to preparing students to engage with an increasingly interconnected world.
NC DPI and Global NC worked together to create a crosswalk demonstrating how successful completion of the Global Teachers program and its required deliverables fulfills the requirements for the Global Educator Digital Badge.
For Global Teachers alumni, the badge provides another way to recognize the work they have already undertaken through the program and their continued commitment to bringing global perspectives into their classrooms and communities.
What Eligible Global Teachers Alumni Need to Know
Eligible Global Teachers alumni will be automatically enrolled in the GEDB process by Global NC. There is nothing you need to do to enroll. Your completed Global Teachers deliverables will serve as the evidence needed for the six GEDB micro credentials.
Global Teachers alumni who participated in the Chile, South Korea, Netherlands, or Southern Africa programs and completed all required program deliverables are eligible.
Once enrolled by Global NC, eligible alumni will receive an email from Kelly Schultz, Standards Implementation Specialist in the Office of Teaching and Learning at NC DPI, with their digital certificate.
