Katie Edwards is responsible for office operations, financial tracking, and managing logistics, outreach and events for Latino Initiative programs.
Prior to joining Go Global NC, Katie served as a private medical caregiver and was an office manager for Automotive Financial Corp., where she managed office operations.
Previously, she held several roles of increasing responsibility for the UNC Center for Health and Disease Prevention – Seeds of HOPE (Health, Opportunities, Partnerships, Empowerment), including project manager, social research assistant, and community coordinator. Her responsibilities included managing collaborative public health social research programs, participant recruitment, grant management, training, database development, and data collection and management procedures. She has also worked for Falcon Children’s Home and Family Services as a houseparent and the Garland Shirt Company as a purchasing manager.
Katie earned a Bachelor of Religious Education from Heritage Bible College and holds a certificate of non-profit management from Duke University. Katie is a former chair of the National Community Committee for Prevention Research Centers of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and she has authored and co-authored more than eight peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
