
Geoff Coltrane
Senior Education Advisor, Office of NC Governor Roy Cooper
Geoff Coltrane is the Senior Education Advisor to the Office of N.C. Governor Roy Cooper, Gov. Cooper’s designee to myFutureNC, and a board member for the N.C. Center for Afterschool Programs and Go Global NC.
Previously, Mr. Coltrane served as the Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Initiatives at the NC School of Science and Mathematics. He was also the Director of Program and Policy at the Hunt Institute, where he was responsible for education programs for policy leaders, including the Governors Education Symposium and the N.C. Legislators Retreat; and the Research and Communications Director at the NC New Schools Project. Geoff started his career as an elementary teacher in Durham, NC.
Mr. Coltrane, a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, earned his undergraduate degree in education from UNC-Chapel Hill and his master’s in public policy degree from Duke University.
He is a native of Trinity, N.C. and lives in Durham with his wife, Sneha, and their daughter Asha and son Devak.
