Dana M Hicks

Dana Hicks is an international business consultant with over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and general management leadership roles with advanced manufacturers, engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) service providers, and management consulting companies.

Over the last two decades, he has held leadership positions with major manufacturers of wastewater and water treatment equipment and engineered systems. He is a Technology Assessment Group Leader with BlueTech Research doing market analysis, competitive analysis, and strategy development projects for industrial and municipal end user clients as well as with the banks and private equity firms that are active investors in the water, wastewater, and sustainable technologies sectors.

Appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, he serves on the North Carolina District Export Council, (www.nc-dec.us), which counsels new-to-export firms and existing exporters on how to effectively sell to all regions of the world. From 2006-2012, Dana Hicks served as the Honorary Consul for Canada in Charlotte, appointed by the Canadian government for investment attraction, export promotion and advocacy for better Canadian-US business and academic cooperation.

Mr. Hicks serves on the Board of Directors for three non-profit organizations including the International House of Metrolina, Midwood International & Cultural Center, and LaunchLKN. He is a member of the Huntersville Rotary Club and Chairperson of the Club’s International Services Committee. He is a trained certified member of the Climate Reality Project – Global Leadership Corps.

Mr. Hicks earned his Bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech and completed executive MBA courses at Northwestern University and at the Allen-Bradley Management Institute in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is fluent in German, has studied and lived in Germany, and has managed German-owned companies over his career. He has extensive domestic travel and international travel experience and is a “Million Miler” in his preferred airline’s frequent flyer program.
