Thank you.
Your generosity, encouragement, and belief in Go Global NC’s mission made an extraordinary difference this year. Because of your support, we not only sustained our signature programs—we dreamed bigger. Together, we expanded opportunities, deepened partnerships, and strengthened the global connections that help North Carolina thrive.
The challenges of today remind us that we cannot succeed in isolation. North Carolina’s prosperity depends on equipping leaders at every level—teachers in classrooms, policymakers at the State Capitol, and business and community leaders across the state—with the knowledge, skills, and relationships needed to compete and collaborate globally. With your support, we are doing just that.
As you explore highlights from our 2024–2025 Impact Report, you’ll see the real-world results of this work:
teachers transforming classrooms, local leaders testing new models of collaboration, and policymakers advancing North Carolina’s global competitiveness. These examples show what’s possible when North Carolina connects with the world—creating opportunities that last for generations.
Together, we are building bridges across cultures, opening minds, and preparing the next generation of global leaders. We invite you to help continue this momentum by supporting the Go Global NC Impact Fund.
Here’s to another year of building connections, transcending boundaries, and creating opportunities for tomorrow.
With profound gratitude,
Meredith Henderson, Ed.D.
Executive Director, Global NC
How Your Support Strengthened North Carolina in 2024–2025
Global Access
With your support, we are planting seeds of understanding and collaboration across North Carolina and around the world. Global Access means building the capacity of educators, students, and community leaders so our state can thrive in an interconnected economy.
One of our flagship programs, Global Teachers, equips K–12 educators with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives to prepare students for success in a diverse and interdependent world. This year, 42 educators traveled to the Netherlands through a combination of scholarships, revenue from our growing Fellowship Endowment, and cost-sharing with partners.
These educators returned ready to bring global perspectives into their classrooms—helping students see challenges from multiple viewpoints and encouraging them to understand their place in a broader world. The impact of this experience will continue to multiply for years to come.
Global Innovation
Global Innovation expands international relationships for North Carolina’s business, education, government, and community leaders—positioning our state for success on the world stage.
This summer, we partnered with the UNC Luther Hodges Fellowship to advance an idea developed through our bipartisan NC Coalition for Global Competitiveness: a City, County, and Regional Global Coalition Model. Four Fellows conducted more than 30 interviews with leaders across North Carolina, producing a first-of-its-kind resource that captures data, best practices, challenges, opportunities, and case studies.
This model will help communities across the state build and leverage global coalitions—maximizing opportunity and strengthening long-term competitiveness.
Global Policy
We advance Global Policy by fostering thought leadership and civic engagement that deepen understanding of North Carolina’s international connections and encourage bipartisan solutions to shared challenges.
This spring, the NC Coalition for Global Competitiveness hosted the Ambassador of Botswana and facilitated meetings with state leaders and partners. For many participants, this was a first introduction to Botswana and its long-standing ties wit
h North Carolina—including a 14-year partnership between the Botswana Defense Force and the North Carolina National Guard.
Encounters like these demonstrate how global connections strengthen our economy, security, and communities—creating opportunities abroad and here at home.
